The Journey of Khadi

The Journey of Khadi

The Artisan's Narrative: Khadi

It takes days, sometimes weeks, to produce a single meter of cloth. By wearing it, you are actively sustaining the artistry of rural artisan communities and preserving a centuries-old craftsmanship.

At SZABO SIHAG, we looked to design pieces that fit effortlessly into your everyday life, we sought out a fabric that breathes and moves with you: handwoven Khadi collection.

Khadi: A Living Textile.

If you look closely at our new collection, you’ll notice tiny shifts in the texture. These aren't flaws—they are the artisan’s signature, proving that human hands made the garment. Plus, this handwoven technique makes the fabric breathable.

What is Khadi Fabric?

Khadi is a completely handmade Indian fabric. Artisans first spin cotton or wool into thread on a traditional spinning wheel, and then carefully weave it together on a handloom. Because the entire process uses zero electricity or factory machinery, it is one of the most sustainable, eco-friendly textiles in the world.

Why SZABO SIHAG Chose Khadi for the Everyday

Often, beautiful Indian fabrics are saved only for grand celebrations, while Western fashion borrows Indian styles without using authentic Indian materials. SZABO SIHAG is changing this. We chose Khadi because its natural, raw beauty is perfect for everyday wear. We are taking the comfort and flow of traditional Indian dressing and using Khadi to create sharp, modern, Western-style clothing.
